Happy Birthday to me!
John had to work on my birthday. So I spent the day shopping at the mall :) I wasn't on the hunt for anything, but did manage to find some birthday gifts for other people and a darling (this word describes the pillow better than 'cute') pillow for my mom that reads "Home is where your Mom is". I'll send it to her for her birthday. Wish I could send myself instead..
The best part of my birthday was waking up to 2 birthday cards on my night stand. One was from John. I love, love the cards he picks. They always sum up how he feels so well. And since he really doesn't go around saying 'I love the things that you do and everything you do for me', which is something he actually wrote, I like that he can write that in the card. I've saved all of them.
The second card was from Holly, Baxter, and Buddy. Oh, how did they know it was their Momma's birthday! They make me so happy.
Dinner was at an Italian/seafood restaurant, Rococo. It was full of old people. We were the only young, hot couple there. The owner is from the East Coast and the food is supposedly authentic East coast style. Whatever that means. I was told the Maryland crab cake appetizer ranks as high as the real deal. But that came from an Oklahoman, so.. I got a plate of mussels and creme brulee. Yum. Not like the seafood in Maryland, but it was good.
To feel less guilty about all the food we ate, we took a post dinner walk around the park with the pups.
