Nothing like Professional Bull Riding on a Saturday night

I had never heard of "PBR" before. My friend made fun of me for not knowing. Must be popular here since I've heard it in a few country songs. (yes, I've been listening to country at work. Not my choice, but it's not so bad) PBR=Professional Bull Riding. And one of the biggest events was held at Oklahoma last weekend. This is something I've wanted to do while here in Oklahoma. I thought I was a cultured person, but somehow in my head I was imagining a man with a lasso being chased around by an angry bull. Must have gotten mixed up with Spain's bull fighting. In Spain they fight. In Oklahoma they ride. Everyone was wearing Wranglers and cowboy boots and hats. I mean EVERYONE. Excluded from that dress code were me and John. John sported a UMD Terps T-shirt, Abercrombie cap, and some Adidas track pants. I at least has some jeans on... and clogs. We felt out of place. But it soon turned out to be a lot of fun. Each rider took turns on the back of a bucking, spinning, 1,700 pound bull. Most guys were flung off in 5 seconds. You would think that once the bull threw the rider off it would charge and try to trample them. Nope, once the rider was off its back, it stopped kicking, and calmly turned around and walked back into its cage. It was funny actually. This mean, wild bull, all of a sudden trots back into its cage liked nothing happened. So well trained! Although, it would have made it much more interesting if it were a rampaging bull.





Okay, this was a rebel bull. He didn't want to go into the cage right away. Most of the others went in soon after

MD Crazy Snow

I'm kinda missing the snow. After seeing everyone's facebook posts and pictures of the ridiculous amount of snow, I wish I were there. Yeah I'd probably be stuck in the house wasting away my days on the computer, then complain afterward about being bored and having to clean up the mess, but still. That much snow just seems so cool. The upper east coast is so cool now because of all that blizzard. I was happy when we got some nice big fluffy flakes on Monday. Those flakes were gone by the end of the day. So to all my Marylanders, be safe and enjoy!

Got a photographer now, too!

We put in our deposit for our photographer today! One more thing we can check off. And funny thing is I found her on FaceBook. We've got 6 friends in common, and I don't remember how I found her page exactly, but I'm glad I did. Her work impressed me. Clean, crisp, a good balance between candid and posed. There were a few other photographers I'd considered. All very very good. But Theresa's photos got me hooked. The daunting task of finding a good photographer, at a good price, that had a unique style made me nervous. I poured over web page after web page of photos and reviews. I wanted a great photographer. Besides the food and entertainment, photography is up there on my list. Have to make sure the guest are having a good time. Then got to make sure we've got photos to back it up! Snowed in

actually, it's more liked iced in. Oklahoma City got hit with a winter storm. Everything is covered in ice. We can't open the door on the deck. We can't see out the windows, it's covered in ice. Now it just started to snow. I kinda like it. No work today. No work yesterday! Woke up at 11 and made pancakes. John and I don't have anywhere we need to be. This is nice. Reminds me of home. Now I have all day to look at pretty wedding pictures online. Time to get inspired!

I found it!!

Yup, I found my dress :) Surely it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Ever seen "Say Yes to the Dress"? Those crazy brides? Whew, sure glad it didn't turn out like that for me. I'm a pretty indecisive person. Blue and white? Blue and yellow? or pink and gray? Still trying to decide and finalize my color schemes. When it came to my dress, the dress, I knew I would have a hard time picking out the right one. I went to try on dresses three times. One time didn't really count since it was during my lunch hour and I happened to find two in my size at a consignment shop. The second time I went with my family. Like all brides, I had a vision and idea of what I wanted to look like. Long off-white flowing gown with delicate lace, capped sleeves, and a minimal train. I picked out a white chiffon gown, similar to what I had invisioned. However as we started to leave the store I found 2 other dresses that I really liked. Luckily for me I didn't buy that gown that day. I spent the next few weeks searching online and decided to go try on the dresses again. It's fun going to bridal shops, seeing other beautiful brides, all of us complementing each other. I didn't like the chiffon as much today. Strange, I was so sure I wanted to go for the flowly look. Instead, I put on a clean, fit and flared satin gown. Oh, it was beautiful. This was the dress. I didn't have to think about it. A few girls walked pass and commented on how wonderful the dress looked. (I even made one girl trip over the steps while she was checking me out...!!! for realz. HAHAHAH!!!) It feels so good to have found the dress. Easier than I thought. I really wish my bridesmaids were there with me to share the moment. I miss you gals! p.s. the gown was on sale... I ended up paying $378 :) make-a-me happy.



This was one of my favorites. The first dress I picked out and almost bought. I still love it now after seeing it in pictures. But something about it looks almost like a night gown.

The Guadelupe dress. I LOVE this dress. It's everything I was looking for. Except it didn't look good on me :(


Apparently this design is similar to Khloe Kardashians gown. I think I look like I'm melting from the bottom up.
